As with any good mentor, Pat wanted us to grow our own program—not to become La Neige, but to build Prairiewind into something that could stand on its own. She understood that every breeder must ultimately be responsible for their own choices and their own path.

In 2017, Prairiewind celebrated its first breeding, marking the beginning of our own breeding program and establishing Prairiewind as a kennel in its own right. While our foundation was shaped by Pat's guidance, the decisions, responsibilities, successes, and lessons that followed became our own.

By allowing Prairiewind to be its own kennel, Pat's legacy remains uniquely hers, while ours continues to grow from the values, knowledge, and love of the breed she helped instill.
